On This Day in History: March 26 - First Phone Call To Brooklyn
This ad appeared in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle on March 26, 1911. On May 11, 1877, a group of New York City notables gathered in the Hotel St. Denis in Manhattan. They came to watch Professor Alexander Graham Bell, of Boston, demonstrate a strange new device called the speaking telephone.
